Job Summary

Fishbeck is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our structural department, you will be responsible for designing and managing various building, infrastructure, and miscellaneous structure projects for municipal, educational, industrial, and commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating with structural department staff to conceptualize economical structural systems for various project types.
  • Applying training, experience, and knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and structural design to a wide range of materials, including structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry.
  • Managing project teams of structural staff on occasion.
  • Assisting in developing marketing fees and proposals with other technical staff and potential teaming partners.
  • Applying structural design principles to develop high-quality design drawings and specifications.
  • Exhibiting competency with standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318.
  • Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, with Structural emphasis.
  • PE license in Michigan or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
  • Ten years of structural engineering consulting business experience.
  • Familiarity with modeling in a BIM environment (preferably with Revit software).
  • Experience with analytical/design software such as RISA, RAM, and Tedds.
  • Familiarity with standards such as AISC 341, ACI 350, ACI 530, and NDS.
