The Aircraft Painter I is a critical role within the Paint Shop team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for preparing aircraft for paint-related operations, ensuring high-quality results while meeting schedule expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Painting: Mask, sand, and prepare aircraft for paint application, applying glazing and sealing compounds as needed.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various preparation and priming equipment, mixing paints and primers as required.
- Leading Edge Sealant Work: Perform leading edge sealant work in final detail, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Safety and Compliance: Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment and ensuring aircraft interior protection.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, with 1 year of painting experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Physical Demands: Ability to climb ladders and stairs, perform close tolerance work, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
- Technical Skills: Ability to use tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft painting process, with a working knowledge of paint processes and products.
