Job Summary

The Medical Screener is responsible for assisting qualified donors in completing the screening process, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes assessing self-administered health history, answering medical questions, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist donors in completing the screening process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SOPs.
  • Perform health screening procedures, including blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
  • Assess self-administered health history and answer medical questions.
  • Refer donors to medical staff when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
  • Ensure a clean and efficient work environment, adhering to Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
