Job Description

The Client is seeking a highly skilled Oracle WebLogic Server Administrator to join their team in NYC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Red Hat Linux and Windows Server environments and be well-versed in Oracle WebLogic Server administration.

Responsibilities
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks within the Oracle WebLogic Servers to ensure smooth and responsive application performance for end-users.
  • Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like bash and WLST.
  • Backup and Recovery Strategy: Develop a comprehensive backup and recovery strategy to safeguard critical data, enable rapid recovery in case of failures, and conduct periodic recovery drills.
  • Monitoring and Alerts: Work with the Client's IT team to set up proactive monitoring using tools to track database health, resource usage, and other vital parameters.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain up-to-date documentation outlining server configurations, security protocols, recovery procedures, and overall infrastructure architecture.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze historical usage patterns and forecast future resource requirements to facilitate informed decisions about scaling the infrastructure.
  • Incident Response and Problem Resolution: Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for escalated incidents and complex problems.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaboration with cross-functioning teams including internal Network Engineers, Red Hat Consultants, Developers, and Security professionals to achieve operational objectives.
  • Patching and Maintenance: Install Patches and Upgrade Java on a quarterly basis.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's/Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Oracle WebLogic Server administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of WebLogic Server instances, software updates/upgrades and patching, deployment and management of applications on WebLogic Server, performance tuning and troubleshooting, security administration and implementation of best practices, and knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., WLST, Jython, Bash).
  • Oracle Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Oracle WebLogic Server 12c Administrator.
  • Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in administering Oracle WebLogic Server in enterprise environments, with hands-on experience in clustering, load balancing, and high availability configurations, familiarity with integrating WebLogic Server with other Oracle products and third-party applications, incident management and resolution skills, and experience working with Red Hat and Windows Servers.
