Key Position Details
  • Sign on bonus of $2,000 (not applicable for new hires with FTE status.5FTE or below, internal employees, and/or rehired employees within 2 years of separation)
  • 0.8 FTE (64 hours per 2-week pay period)
  • 8/12 combo day/evening shifts
  • Every Monday off
  • No weekends
  • No major Holidays
Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant in our family practice and primary care clinic, you will provide support to providers and the nursing staff in delivering timely, quality patient health care services. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with rooming patients, managing patient flow, and obtaining adequate patient medical information
  • Collecting patient information via interview, questionnaires, vital signs, and accurately documenting in the electronic medical records
  • Assisting with the collection, labeling, and processing of specimens
  • Facilitating obtaining lab/imaging results and notifying providers of abnormalities
  • Working with the electronic medical records in basket, responding to messages as delegated for providers
  • May need to help cover front desk and provide backup to patient registration/scheduling
  • Performing patient care tasks as delegated by providers or RNs
  • Performing injections
  • Assisting with procedures
  • Providing patient information regarding test/procedure preparation, treatment plan, preventative or other health results of tests, procedures, etc. with providers or RNs
  • Preparing refill information for providers to review and prescribe
  • Assisting with patient preparation for procedures
  • Creating a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees
  • Reporting environmental risks or equipment malfunctions to supervisors
  • Using equipment following policies, procedures, and manufacturer directions or standards
  • Following all policies, procedures, standard work, and proper techniques when providing patient care
  • Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining inventory for exam, medication, and supply rooms
  • Reporting any acute problems and changes in patient conditions
  • Applying High Reliable Safety principles to all interactions
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age
  • Meet required principle competencies as listed on the job description
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
  • Have a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (optional)
