Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert electrical engineering comments based on established design standards and criteria for construction projects.
  • Review electrical design drawings and specifications for commercial, government, and data center facilities, including lighting systems, power distribution, and grounding.
  • Select lighting fixtures and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure efficient and safe electrical systems.
  • Perform electrical demand load calculations and generator load calculations to ensure reliable power distribution.
  • Design and select electrical equipment, size conduits, and perform electrical panel load calculations to ensure safe and efficient electrical systems.
  • Conduct site visits to collect data and evaluate electrical systems, equipment, and materials for projects, providing recommendations to clients and team members.
  • Troubleshoot electrical system issues and interpret National Electrical Code to ensure compliance.
  • Work closely with project managers to deliver well-coordinated electrical design reviews and participate in quality control and quality assurance during construction.
  • Assist in writing scopes of work for projects and perform construction administration duties, such as reviewing RFIs, field reports, and submittals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in the design of building electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Top-Secret Security Clearance.
Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment with a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time.

The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
