Job Title: After School Care Staff

Calhoun City Schools is seeking a qualified After School Care Staff member to join our team. As a member of our community education team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a program with activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to students' age and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and engage campers in scheduled activities and events.
  • Assist in the management of the overall program operations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of effective behavior management.
  • Deliver program activities as needed.
  • Supervise and monitor students during the day-to-day operations of the program.
  • Ensure that the program is running smoothly and in compliance with established procedures.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Counsel students in conflict resolution.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and other key personnel to facilitate a smooth operation of the program.
  • Ensure students follow safety procedures in all areas.
  • Check the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair on a daily basis.
  • Work with the site-manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising activities related to the program.
  • Provide leadership and serve as a mentor to students.
  • Interact in a positive manner with students, parents, staff, and community.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid and Bright From The Start Georgia Health and Safety Orientation Training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines.
Working Conditions:

The After School Care Staff member will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of energy and enthusiasm. The ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid and to assist students in an emergency is essential. The physical ability to lift 50 pounds and to maintain constant supervision of students is also required.
