About the Role:

The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health) is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our Diagnostic Team. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for acquiring high-quality Mammography images that are used for medical diagnoses and treatment. These images will be interpreted by a Radiologist board-certified in Mammography to identify breast abnormalities. You will work under the direct supervision of higher-level personnel and have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine Mammography Imaging exams and procedures
Utilize department clinical protocols to obtain optimal quality imaging
Obtain detailed history from patient and medical record
Educate patients on breast care
Navigate electronic medical record and other information systems utilized to process imaging
Schedule patients for exams and assist with some regulatory clerical functions
Perform all quality control functions related to mammography equipment
Assist in training and education of Mammography students
Participate in the enforcement of Radiation safety practices
Respond to patient and/or staff service and patient experience issues

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent
Current/Valid registration or certification in medical radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Current/Valid licensure in medical radiography by the State of Illinois (IEMA)
Modality specific certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), in Mammography
Current/Valid American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
