Job Title: Travel Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist

About the Role:

In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to work with a leading healthcare company, providing diagnostic ultrasound services to patients across the US. As a Travel Sonographer, you'll be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures, including general imaging, breast, and abdominal ultrasounds. You'll work closely with our team to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care and that our clients receive exceptional service.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic general imaging ultrasound examinations according to AIUM and ACR guidelines
  • Locate and image internal elements of the body, including blood vessels and organs, and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions
  • Provide a wide range of highly technical diagnostic exams, including breast, abdominal, small parts, and OB/GYN
  • Ensure patient safety and monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and/or emotional changes
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy
  • Review patient case studies with peers and physicians
  • Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested according to department procedures
  • Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers
  • Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation
  • Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or request system repair
  • Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures
  • Comply with Siemens, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure
  • Maintain technical competency through continued education
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Abide by all HIPAA standards for patient privacy
  • Abide by all OSHA standards for safety regulations
  • Perform additional duties as required
Requirements:
  • Ultrasound background with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience required, specifically in the specialties of general, breast, and abdomen
  • Acuson S2000 experience preferred
  • Valid ARDMS license
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional, and ethical manner
  • Flexibility, reliability, and sound judgment and initiative
