Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at The Nurse Connection Staffing Inc. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist nursing personnel in providing basic care for residents, including bathing, skin care, toileting, and grooming.
  • Help residents with feeding, measuring and recording intake and output, and weighing residents using upright, chair, and bed scales.
  • Assist with turning and positioning of residents, proper transfer techniques, and use of medical equipment such as canes, crutches, walkers, and Hoyer Lifts.
  • Keep residents' rooms clean and supplied, make and change beds, and transport residents, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Assist nurses and other personnel as needed, and ambulate residents who require minimal assistance.
  • Perform simple, non-sterile dressings, apply heat or cold compresses as directed by a RN, and collect and label specimens (urine, stool, sputum).
  • Measure and record vital signs/weights and report variations in vital signs to RN, and immediately report any changes in client's condition or incidents to the Nursing Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Current NYS CNA Licensure
  • Six consecutive full-time months of CNA experience post-certification in long-term care in the past 3 years
  • A health examination must be successfully completed prior to assignment to verify that he/she is free from communicable disease and physically capable of performing assigned duties
  • Candidate must have current and valid NYS Certification for Nursing Assistants
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Candidate will have the physical ability to perform job-related duties, which may require lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, and pulling
  • The candidate must successfully complete any/all required pre-employment evaluation test(s) per policy
  • All must have current PPD's and Current Physcals
