Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist CT to provide computed tomography imaging services in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of technical CT examinations associated with the operation of CT equipment to produce diagnostic images of designated portions of the body.
- Observe all regulations concerning radiation protection of patients and staff.
- Review patient history and physician's orders.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.
- Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
- Prepare equipment and supplies.
- Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
- Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Program in Radiologic Technology required.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to patients.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Licensed by the VA Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist required.
