Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst-Intermediate to join our team at UT Health San Antonio. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing complex budget and financial support services related to clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Clinical Trial Budgets: Prepare detailed budgets for clinical trials based on chargemasters and coverage analysis performed in conjunction with principal investigators.
  • Review Clinical Trial Protocols: Analyze clinical trial protocols to develop budgets based on trial plans.
  • Negotiate Budgets with Sponsors: Collaborate with sponsors to negotiate appropriate budgets for trial operations.
  • Develop Budget Calendars: Create calendars to encompass all required procedures in trial budgets.
  • Implement Budgetary Control Systems: Assist in the installation of budgetary control systems.
  • Perform Other Duties: Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Contracts and Budgeting: Possess a strong understanding of contracts and budgeting principles.
  • Knowledge of Higher Education Fund Accounting and Budgeting: Familiarity with higher education fund accounting and budgeting practices is preferred.
  • Budget, Financial, and Accounting Skills: Demonstrate expertise in budget, financial, and accounting skills.
  • Prioritization, Planning, and Organizing: Possess the ability to prioritize, plan, and organize assignments effectively.
  • Accessing and Retrieving Information: Demonstrate the ability to independently access and retrieve information from databases and organize it for analytical purposes.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate budget and cost issues.
  • Computer Proficiency: Be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, financial systems, and databases.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Three Years of Budgetary Experience: Three years of budgetary experience is required.
