Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections and investigations of food manufacturing facilities, shellfish dealers, and other related entities to ensure compliance with applicable health and sanitation laws and regulations. You will work closely with our team to identify and address any non-compliance issues, provide education and guidance to industry stakeholders, and maintain accurate records of inspections and investigations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and investigations of food manufacturing facilities, shellfish dealers, and other related entities to ensure compliance with applicable health and sanitation laws and regulations.
  • Identify and address any non-compliance issues, provide education and guidance to industry stakeholders, and maintain accurate records of inspections and investigations.
  • Work closely with our team to develop and implement effective compliance strategies and programs.
  • Collaborate with other state and federal agencies to ensure consistency and coordination in food safety and compliance efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and provide expert guidance to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience conducting FDA contract cGMP & HACCP inspections.
  • Familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and the National Shellfish Program.
  • Working knowledge of Windows computer operating system and applications.
  • Experience working with the food industry, shellfish, and fixed or mobile wholesale/retail seafood facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Advanced training in food safety and compliance.
  • Experience working in a regulatory agency or industry-related field.
