Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Mercy Medical Center Redding. This role is specifically for an experienced Med/Surg Oncology Registered Nurse who is ready for a travel assignment.

Certification Requirements
  • Active BLS certification
  • Current California nursing license
Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the Med/Surg Oncology unit. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the unit.
Experience Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Med/Surg Oncology.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and adapt to travel assignments.
Schedule Details

This position requires:

  • 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.
  • Four weekend shifts within a four-week schedule.
Unit Information

The Med/Surg Oncology unit features:

  • A total of 17 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5, which may adjust to 1:4 for patients receiving chemotherapy.
  • Support from a clinical supervisor who will not take patient assignments but will assist with breaks.
  • On-site resources including a pharmacy and respiratory therapy available 24/7.
Additional Information

All candidates must be compliant with the COVID vaccination requirement and possess the ability to interpret telemetry readings. Orientation will be provided for one shift on the unit.
