Job Summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in empowering every New Yorker to live the healthiest life possible.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect and analyze data from various sources, including electronic health records, billing systems, and healthcare databases.
Enter and maintain data in relevant databases or software systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in data to ensure high-quality datasets according to specifications.
Analyze financial data related to patient billing, claims, reimbursements, and revenue cycles to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle, such as denial rates, payment turnaround times, and collection rates.
Create and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports to management, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations.
Develop charts, graphs, and dashboards to present data insights in a clear and accessible manner.

Requirements:

A Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university; and,
Two years of experience in business, government, hospital, educational or a non-profit organization in analysis, development and implementation of systems and sub-systems. Familiarity with EDP applications and data processing programs; or,
A Masters Degree in Management, Business Administration or approved related fields from an accredited college or university may be equated to a maximum of one year of related experience; or,
A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ year in handling sensitive data, administrative work, Data Entry, Reporting, Revenue Cycle terminologies
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with a strong preference for Excel.
Experience with patient accounting practices.
Basic knowledge of SQL.
Familiarity with Tableau or other BI platforms.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for learning new skills and adapting to new roles.
Self-motivated and proactive, able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail, with excellent research and follow-up skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
