Job Summary

Cynet Health is seeking a skilled Traveling Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Traveling Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings and provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Monitoring: Assess and monitor patients throughout the labor process, identifying any complications that may arise.
  • Contractions and Breathing Techniques: Monitor contractions and assist patients with breathing techniques to help manage pain and discomfort.
  • IV and Central Line Skills: Perform basic IV and central line skills as needed.
  • Phlebotomy: Perform phlebotomy skills to collect blood samples for testing.
  • Hemodynamics: Have knowledge of hemodynamics and be able to interpret patient data.
  • Pain Management: Administer pain medication as ordered and other medications to address specific medical conditions.
  • Vital Signs: Take and record patient vital signs, identifying any problematic readings.
  • Fetal Monitoring: Read fetal monitor strips and identify any issues with the baby's heart rate.
  • Life-Sustaining Functions: Identify and manage life-sustaining physiological functions in unstable patients.
  • Cervix Monitoring: Check the patient's cervix periodically to monitor progression and dilation.
  • Bed Maintenance: Ensure the patient's bed is kept dry and clean, and clean up bodily fluids before and after the birthing process.
  • Anesthesia and Physician Support: Contact anesthesia when the patient is ready for an epidural and assist the delivering physician as needed.
  • Patient Care: Care for patients on Pitocin, MgSO4, and continuous lumbar epidural.
  • Delivery Preparation: Ensure the patient is in the proper position for delivery and that all monitoring equipment is functioning properly.
  • Instrument Support: Aid the doctor with drapes, gloves, gowns, and delivery instruments as needed during the birthing process.
  • Operating Room Support: Assist the MD in the Operating Room for C-Section and monitor patients on telemetry.
  • Cardiac Arrest Team: Be proficient in Cardiac Arrest Team Member skills.
  • Newborn Care: Provide immediate care to the newborn, including cleaning, weighing, and giving Apgar scores.
Requirements
  • Nursing Degree: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Nursing License: Current nursing license in good standing.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year Labor & Delivery (L/D) experience.
  • Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, Fetal Monitoring.
