Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Cardiology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and participating in various technical procedures involving radioactive materials and measurement instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical procedures, including in vivo and in vitro studies, to ensure accurate and efficient results.
  • Operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation, including stationary imaging devices, scintillation gamma, and apparatus for in vitro counting.
  • Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients, and formulate radiopharmaceutical materials from pre-prepared kits.
  • Evaluate recorded images for technical quality and process computerized image data, including function curves and reconstructed SPECT images.
  • Explain procedures to patients and assume care for their physical and psychological needs during examinations.
  • Perform IV, EKG prep, and tracing as needed.

Quality Control and Maintenance

  • Maintain daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual quality control on nuclear imaging equipment and hot lab equipment.
  • Monitor the Nuclear Medicine Department for possible contamination using a portable survey meter.
  • Ensure compliance with ICANL accreditation standards, NC Department of Radiation Protection, and JACHO standards.

Training and Development

  • Assist in the development and evaluation of new procedures and techniques to meet specific protocol needs.
  • Consult with physicians regarding the application of nuclear medicine procedures and techniques.
  • Provide instruction and technical guidance in training new employees.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Requires successful completion of an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with experience in Cardiology.

Work Schedule

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
