We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Hays County, TX. As a Public Health Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing, directing, and providing technical services for the Tuberculosis Elimination and other infectious diseases programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and disease prevention strategies to meet regional and state objectives.
- Integrate communicable disease activities and surveillance into a comprehensive public health system.
- Provide educational, consultative, advisory, and technical assistance to coordinate and integrate local, regional, and state resources to reduce the morbidity and mortality of TB and infectious diseases.
- Deliver case management, contact investigation, and disease intervention activities.
- Plan and organize departmental nursing and support staff.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in nursing or public health administration.
- Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Texas.
- Ability to obtain certifications in CPR, Texas Health Steps, HIV Counseling, Vision Screening, and Scoliosis Screening.
- Minimum of four years of clinical or public health nursing experience, with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
We offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees, including health care, dental, vision, retirement, and flexible spending accounts. Part-time employees who work less than 30 hours per week receive some benefits on a pro-rated basis.
