Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Hays County, TX. As a Public Health Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing, directing, and providing technical services for the Tuberculosis Elimination and other infectious diseases programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and disease prevention strategies to meet regional and state objectives.
  • Integrate communicable disease activities and surveillance into a comprehensive public health system.
  • Provide educational, consultative, advisory, and technical assistance to coordinate and integrate local, regional, and state resources to reduce the morbidity and mortality of TB and infectious diseases.
  • Deliver case management, contact investigation, and disease intervention activities.
  • Plan and organize departmental nursing and support staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in nursing or public health administration.
  • Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Ability to obtain certifications in CPR, Texas Health Steps, HIV Counseling, Vision Screening, and Scoliosis Screening.
  • Minimum of four years of clinical or public health nursing experience, with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
