Newborn Hearing Screener

The Newborn Hearing Screener performs hearing screening services for newborns at various hospital locations. This role requires the ability to follow test protocols, use appropriate test techniques, and communicate effectively with parents.

• Perform hearing screenings in assigned locations
• Follow test protocols to ensure minimum age, patient test state, and stable criteria are met before screening
• Use appropriate test techniques for preparation and proper electrode placement
• Promptly and accurately complete all screening documentation
• Communicate the newborn hearing screening process and results to parents
• Accurately submit billing paperwork within the same working day of hearing screening
• Identify all new births and enter patient demographic data into the screening equipment
• Perform proper hand hygiene and follow established equipment cleaning protocols

• A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion, or equivalent achievement
• Current BLS certification, AHA
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
