Position Summary
University Hospitals is seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our dynamic surgical team. This role involves working four days a week in the surgery department and one day a week in the GI clinic. While prior experience as an advanced practice provider is preferred, we are open to considering new graduates. Candidates for the Nurse Practitioner role must possess their RNFA certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and establish diagnoses based on thorough assessment data and the latest scientific research.
- Develop and execute care plans, implementing interventions aligned with established protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient and family care.
- Order and perform essential diagnostic tests.
- Create and implement effective treatment strategies.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Proven competence as a healthcare practitioner.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with various technical patient care devices relevant to the clinical setting.
- Proficient in using computers and office equipment.
Experience and Expertise:
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
Educational Background:
- Nurse Practitioner: Doctorate in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on clinical practice.
- Physician Assistant: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program with NCCPA certification.
Required Credentials:
- Nurse Practitioner: BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred. Must hold a current Registered Nurse license and APRN license to practice in Ohio.
- Physician Assistant: BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred. Must be NCCPA-Certified and possess a DEA license.
