We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Information Scientist or Technologist to join our team at Course Advisor.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for researching and developing geospatial technologies, producing databases, and performing applications programming. They will also coordinate projects and specialize in areas such as agriculture, mining, health care, retail trade, urban planning, or military intelligence.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to clients or users.
- Research and Development: Research or develop geospatial technologies, including producing databases and performing applications programming.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate or direct research or publication activities of technicians or related staff.
- GIS Application Development: Design, program, or model Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications or procedures.
- Data Analysis: Produce data layers, maps, tables, or reports, using spatial analysis procedures or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, equipment, or systems.
- Application Development: Develop new applications for geospatial technology in areas such as farmland preservation, pollution measurement, or utilities operations management.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, including software and equipment.
- Research and Development Skills: Ability to research and develop new geospatial technologies.
- Project Management Skills: Experience in coordinating or directing research or publication activities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including writing and speaking.
