The Production Technician II role is a critical position that supports the operations team in a manufacturing setting. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing preventive maintenance on production equipment throughout the facility with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Supports company and industry standard safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, NEC, NFPA, USDA, and FDA regulations.
- Performs inspections and completes preventive/predictive maintenance tasks on production and process utility equipment to increase quality, safety, and overall equipment reliability.
- Diagnoses and repairs production and process utility equipment deficiencies and failures, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Learns and uses continuous improvements tools and methods to improve equipment reliability, including root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode analysis (FMA), and makes recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Works and trains with OEM technicians during production equipment rebuilds, line moves, installations, setups, calibrations, and emergency repairs.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Responsible for effectively managing assigned planned work, unplanned failures, and work orders in a high-paced, fluid work environment.
- Responsible for accurately and concisely logging work orders in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to properly track maintenance and equipment performance metrics.
- Three (3) plus years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, electrical components, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, material handling equipment, etc.
- Experience using lockout tagout, job hazard analysis, hot work permits, confined space, etc.
- Experience working in a food processing environment and familiar with USDA, FDA, and SQF policies and procedures.
