Position Summary:
The Intensive Care RN is responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves caring for acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical environment that requires ongoing monitoring. Responsibilities include:
  • Administering extensive medication protocols and therapies
  • Addressing the emotional and psychosocial needs of patients and their families
  • Performing interventions such as medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
  • Ensuring patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Monitoring and communicating patient conditions to the care team and family
  • Assisting patients with daily living activities
  • Collaborating across disciplines to coordinate comprehensive patient care
  • Providing education to patients and families tailored to their specific needs

As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, you will maintain close observation of patients, administer prescribed treatments, and assist medical personnel in patient assessments. You will also coordinate patient care processes, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, while ensuring all documentation is completed accurately in both written and Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum Work Experience:
One year of critical care experience preferred; hemodynamic monitoring experience required.

Licenses:
Current Arizona Registered Nurse Licensure or Compact State RN Licensure; Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.

Required Skills and Certifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment are essential.
