Job Title: Future Custodian

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Columbus Municipal School District. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and restrooms.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuums, mops, and brooms.
  • Use cleaning agents and supplies safely and effectively.
  • Perform manual labor, including lifting and moving heavy furniture and equipment.
  • Follow verbal instructions and take direction from supervisors.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Reading comprehension skills for reading cleaning instructions and basic arithmetic skills.
  • Coordination skills.
  • Equipment selection skills.
  • Oral comprehension skills to follow verbal instructions.
  • Manual dexterity, flexibility, and trunk strength when moving heavy furniture, lifting, and arranging things.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The Custodian will be required to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
