Shift: 36 hrs/week - Day/Evening, 8 and 12 hr shifts rotation as needed, and Weekend
Guaranteed Hours: 36
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years, particularly in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center
License: Must have nursing license from the current state of residence
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS certified through the American Heart Association only; TNCC required
Must-Have:
- Basic Arrhythmia experience
- Two completed references from a recent work environment/assignments in the last two years (from a supervisor or manager only)
- Successfully completed a previous traveler assignment (13 weeks)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients ranging from pediatrics to adults
- Coordinate care with ground ambulances and medical flights for severely ill and injured patients
- Participate in diagnostic interventions and offer immediate consultations for various critical care situations
- Perform and assist in cardiac catheterization, trauma care, acute stroke care, burn care, operative procedures, special diagnostic testing, and definitive care
- Engage in a highly active ECPR (ECMO) program
- Collaborate with a team of subspecialists to ensure safety for staff and positive outcomes for patients and caregivers
- Exhibit flexibility to work rotating shifts and float to other units as necessary based on staffing needs
- Be willing to pass an adult and pediatric telemetry test prior to the start date
