Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Risk Evaluator to join our team in Charlotte, NC. As an E&S Underwriting Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing new and renewal applications to evaluate complex Excess & Surplus (E&S) risks in various lines of business. Your primary goal will be to determine the acceptability or declination of coverage and broker said risks to viable carriers for coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review new and renewal business applications to confirm that information is appropriate to determine placement of coverage.
  • Perform brokerage work for complex E&S assignments, utilizing independent decision making and discretion.
  • Accept or decline risks and determine the placement of risks with various carriers.
  • Obtain prospects and actively pursue and create interest through telephone calls, writing letters, or making personal visits.
  • Implement methods for promotion of policies or improvements to processes.
  • Ensure quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings (where applicable) are made, and taxes paid within applicable state laws.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • An active state insurance license.
  • One (1) or more years of successful P&C insurance experience.
