**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Amazon. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and deploying natural language understanding models that improve the customer experience on Fire TV.

About the Team

Our science team works at the intersection of Recommender Systems, Information Retrieval, Machine Learning and Natural Language Understanding. We leverage techniques from all these fields to create novel algorithms that allow our customers to engage with the right content at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing.
  • Clean, analyze and select data to achieve goals.
  • Build and release models that elevate the customer experience and track impact over time.
  • Design and run experiments, evaluate the impact of your optimizations, and communicate the results to various business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from science, engineering and business backgrounds.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative field.
  • 4+ years of experience in quantitative field research.
  • Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products.
  • Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++.
  • Experience in machine learning, statistics, and deep learning.

About Amazon

Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. We offer a total compensation package including salary, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation. Our base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.
