Role Summary and QualificationsThe Cardiac Rehabilitation unit operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
As a Registered Nurse in this department, you will deliver high-quality clinical care to a diverse population of cardiac patients, both inpatient and outpatient. You will work collaboratively with Exercise Physiologists, Physicians, and Allied Health Technicians to provide comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments to evaluate patient health status, adhering to established care standards.
- Develop, implement, and assess patient care plans to enhance outcomes and utilize resources effectively.
- Deliver direct nursing care and oversee non-licensed staff in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide education and emotional support tailored to the patient's age, culture, and specific needs, integrating family teaching into nursing practice.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN or equivalent.
- Knowledge of dysrhythmia recognition, cardiovascular disease pathophysiology, and clinical exercise physiology is preferred.
- Skills in cardiopulmonary assessment and patient education, with experience in geriatric care being beneficial.
- Current BLS certification is mandatory.
- Active registered nurse license in the state of practice or a compact license.
- Preferred certifications include ACSM Exercise Specialist, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, or ANA Cardiac Rehabilitation certification.
- A minimum of one year of experience in critical care nursing, with additional experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation being advantageous.
