About the PositionThis is an excellent opportunity to join Albuquerque Public Schools as an Educarional Specialist - Algebra. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to teach algebra to students.
Responsibilities- Create a flexible program and environment conducive to learning and personal growth for students.
- Encourage students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for continuous growth and development.
- Provide students with experiences that integrate affective, cognitive, and psychomotor dimensions of learning.
- Establish effective rapport with students and their parents.
- Assist students in developing positive feelings toward themselves and others.
Essential Functions:
- C coordinate parent advisory activities and parent education workshops.
- Cooperate in the development and implementation of the District program of instruction.
- Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and complies with State Department of Education Standards and the APS Board of Education goals and objectives.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, assignments, units, and projects in harmony with curriculum goals and communicate the objectives to students.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone.
- Knowledge of APS community, computer system, financial procedures, and legal requirements.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and coordinate the work of others.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Current New Mexico teaching certificate in specified field.
- Current endorsements dependent upon specific positions may be required.
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position with 190 days worked per year.
