Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomolecular NMR

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Hauptman-Woodward Institute in Buffalo, NY. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural biology and experience with biomolecular NMR spectroscopy.

Research Focus

The main focus of our laboratory is to understand the assembly of RNA-protein complexes involved in histone pre-mRNA processing, translation initiation, and mRNA degradation. We use a variety of structural, biophysical, and biochemical methods to study these complexes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy to study RNA-protein complexes
  • Develop and implement new methods for protein expression and purification
  • Collaborate with other researchers in the laboratory to achieve research goals
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent researcher with a Ph.D. in structural biology or a related field. Prior experience with biomolecular NMR spectroscopy and protein expression and purification is highly desirable.

About the Hauptman-Woodward Institute

The Hauptman-Woodward Institute is a leading research institution in structural biology, with state-of-the-art facilities for protein production, protein purification, crystal growth, and X-ray diffraction. Our researchers have access to a 600 MHz Varian Inova spectrometer and a high-throughput screening laboratory for determining initial crystallization conditions.
