Nutrition Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Coordinator to join our team at Long Island Head Start. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating all aspects of the Nutrition component at our Head Start Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals in compliance with HHS Performance Standards, USDA Regulations, and New York/Suffolk County Sanitation Codes
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth meal service and maintain a clean and safe food environment
  • Evaluate and improve nutrition programs to meet the needs of our children and families

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in quantity cooking and food preparation preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary: $19.00 per year
