Job Summary

Intermountain Electronics, a leading provider of custom engineered solutions, is seeking a skilled Material Handler and Fabrication Specialist to join our team at our Centralia, IL facility. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for unloading steel product deliveries, organizing and band saw cutting, kitting jobs, and maintaining steel inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload steel on delivery trucks and verify against purchase orders.
  • Stock steel in designated areas for inventory management.
  • Keep steel stock areas clean and organized.
  • Assist in reviewing pick sheets and pulling products for each job.
  • Kit steel as needed and work closely with the inventory group to monitor supply levels.
  • Collaborate with the inventory control and purchasing groups to resolve delivery discrepancies.
  • Operate overhead cranes and rigging items to move and place steel.
  • Responsible for yard organization and cleanliness.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of scrap/miscellaneous/odd size steel for future use.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, plus welding fabrication experience.
  • Able to use a MIG welder and discern correct welding applications.
  • Must be able to climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways.
  • Able to discern and properly use a forklift.
  • Able to keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Essential rigging knowledge is necessary.
  • Good math skills necessary for transferring print information to the fabrication process.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop/engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, take direction from supervisors, and adhere to required work schedules.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required. Intermountain Electronics, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
