Job Summary

The BIM Modeler is a key member of our production team, responsible for providing modeling efforts for project delivery and standards. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical drafting conventions and standards, as well as proficiency in Revit software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Lead Modeler to develop Revit Families for revised standards or specific project needs.
  • Efficiently model and document projects, including layout and input of marked-up drawings into Revit.
  • Lead modeling efforts on projects, working with support modelers to complete deliverables.
  • Setup Revit views for use by the Rosendin Project team.
  • Electronic document filing and management of drawings and models.
  • Input of marked-up drawings into Revit.
  • Document and archive work according to REI standards.
  • Acknowledge REI confidentiality and Non-Disclosure requirements.
  • Back-check own work for accuracy before passing on to others.
  • Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites.
Requirements
  • Associate degree preferred in Computerized Drafting field.
  • Minimum 2 years' total experience with knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical drafting conventions and standards.
  • Proficient working knowledge of current modeling applications software, including Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.
  • Fluency in Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Design Review, and working knowledge of 3D layout and design.
  • Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
  • Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in-house or on the job site.
  • Fluency for importing documents, such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
  • Fluency in the current version of Revit software employed by the Department.
  • Fluency in the 2D and 3D space.
  • Fluency in reading 2D plans, electronically or hard copy.
  • Skills obtained above and beyond building elements, including creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
  • Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
Travel and Working Conditions

Up to 20% travel required. General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
