Counselor - Family Recovery Center

Family Service League is seeking a full-time Counselor to join our Family Recovery Center team in Mastic. As a Counselor, you will provide individual and group therapy to children, families, and adults impacted by substance use disorders. You will consult and advocate with outside agencies, facilitate referrals, and ensure seamless service delivery.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality counseling services to clients, including individual and group therapy sessions.
- Manage a caseload of clients and provide case management services, including intake assessments and crisis planning.
- Conduct laboratory screenings and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with clients, family members, and agencies to ensure comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation.
- Facilitate groups and maintain a high level of client engagement.
- Register clients in impaired driver systems and maintain accurate records.
- Meet regularly with supervisors to review cases and ensure adherence to OASAS regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CASAC/CASAC-T or related education required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with substance use disorders required; experience with co-occurring disorders preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with referral sources.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required; Electronic Health Records preferred.
