Job Summary:

Grand Rapids Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Varsity Softball Coach to lead our secondary grades 6-12 team. As a coach, you will be responsible for organizing and training athletes to compete as a unit and individually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Set clear goals for the team and players, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Coaching Expertise: Stay updated on best coaching practices, and teach skills necessary for success.
  • Student Support: Support student academic achievements, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with the community, and create a safe environment for athletes.
  • Qualifications and Certifications: High School Diploma or GED, 18 years or older, playing or coaching experience required, First Aid, CPR, and concussion training certifications.

Work Environment:

The employee must be able to perform various physical tasks and have specific vision abilities. Work is mainly indoors with some outdoor activities, and the employee is responsible for student safety and well-being.
