Job Overview

Danbury Hospital is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist 2 to join our team. As a key member of our inpatient physical medicine department, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with acute or prolonged physical dysfunction.

About the Role

This position involves providing therapeutic services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate physical dysfunction. You will evaluate and analyze patients, developing treatment plans that maximize functional independence. Clinical responsibilities may include treating pediatric, adult, and mature adult patients in various settings, including in-patient, out-patient, and pediatrics.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, demonstrating technical skill and accuracy.
  2. Develop and implement effective treatment plans, utilizing appropriate interventions, procedures, and equipment as defined by specialty area.
  3. Provide patient and family education, training, and support to ensure optimal outcomes.
  4. Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities to maintain high standards of care.
  5. Document patient information accurately and timely, adhering to department guidelines.
  6. Initiate discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions.
  7. Maintain ongoing education and certification requirements, staying current with industry developments.
  8. Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff members, promoting knowledge sharing and growth.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with patients with neurological conditions.
  • CPR certification and Functional Independent Measurement (FIM) certification in inpatient rehab settings are desirable.
