Job Title: Mobile Carpenter

Department: Field Operations

Reports to: Superintendent/Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Mobile Carpenter is essential in the construction and renovation of industrial and commercial projects, delivering skilled carpentry services across multiple job sites. This role demands extensive carpentry experience, a willingness to travel frequently, and a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship. The Mobile Carpenter collaborates closely with the Superintendent and other field staff to ensure all carpentry tasks are completed efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:


Carpentry Tasks: Execute all facets of carpentry work, including framing, door and window installation, trim work, and concrete form construction. Ensure compliance with specifications, blueprints, and building codes.


Travel and Flexibility: Travel to various job sites as needed, adjusting to different working conditions and project requirements. Maintain adaptability to work on a variety of projects, including industrial and commercial constructions.


Site Collaboration: Work alongside the Superintendent and other site personnel to facilitate smooth workflow, timely material deliveries, and adherence to project timelines. Assist in addressing any on-site carpentry challenges.


Safety Standards: Adhere to all company and regulatory safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in regular safety meetings. Promptly report any safety hazards or incidents.


Quality Control: Ensure all carpentry work meets or surpasses industry standards and client expectations. Engage in punch list completion and final inspections to verify the quality and integrity of the work performed.


Tool Maintenance: Care for and maintain all tools and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. Report any damages or maintenance needs to the Superintendent.

Qualifications:


Experience: A minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience, preferably in industrial and commercial construction. Experience in roles requiring travel is advantageous.


Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment necessary for carpentry tasks. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.


Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team environment. Willingness to collaborate with diverse teams across various job sites.


Licensing and Certifications: Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as required. OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training is preferred or the ability to obtain it upon hire.

Physical Requirements:


• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.


• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and walking on uneven surfaces.


• Must be capable of working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.


• Regular use of hands and arms to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Work Environment:


• Frequent travel to job sites across different locations, sometimes requiring overnight stays.


• Exposure to typical construction site conditions, including noise, dust, and potential hazards.


• Standard construction work hours with occasional overtime as dictated by project deadlines.
