Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Professional to join our team as a Postoperative Care Specialist in the Surgical II unit at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized postoperative care to patients recovering from procedures such as vascular, spine, and chest tube surgeries, and those with external fixators and multi-system traumas.

Responsibilities

  1. Assessing patients' conditions and health needs.
  2. Providing specialized postoperative care to patients.
  3. Administering medications and treatments prescribed by physicians.
  4. Monitoring and recording patients' vital signs and medical information.
  5. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  6. Educating patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care measures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Associate degree in nursing.
  • Current valid North Carolina Nursing License or Multi-State/Compact.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in postoperative care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for fostering a supportive work environment.
