Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapy Registered Nurse RN PRN to join our team. As a Radiation Therapy Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
Responsibilities- Obtain medical histories from patient/family charts and update medical records as needed.
- Provide education to patients and family members regarding diagnosis, treatment, side effects, and follow-up care.
- Assess patients under treatment for current side effects and instruct patients/families on how to manage them.
- Coordinate patient care within the hospital and with physician offices.
- Participate in weekly quality assurance chart reviews.
- Coordinate/assist with brachytherapy procedures and provide education to patients and families as needed.
- Teach wound care to patients/families and provide support and encouragement to patients and families.
- Current Virginia license or license pending results of State Board or compact license.
- One year of oncology nursing experience and two years of medical-surgical nursing.
- Preferred OCN certification.
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing with current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Virginia.
- Preferred BSN degree or currently enrolled in BSN Program.
