Position Summary

This role is dedicated to delivering outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy services, focusing primarily on a pediatric demographic ranging from school-age children to young adults. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to independently manage the entire spectrum of professional services, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards as well as hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide treatment for a variety of sports-related injuries and orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to musculoskeletal injuries, overuse syndromes, neurological issues, and trauma.
  2. Utilize evidence-based practices tailored to the age and sport of the patient, demonstrating a thorough understanding of developmental milestones in relation to athletic activities.
  3. Employ behavior management strategies suitable for pediatric patients, aligning therapeutic interventions with the child's age and abilities, while adhering to a family-centered care approach.
  4. Develop and implement treatment plans with clear, measurable goals, ensuring collaboration with the patient’s family or guardian for mutual agreement.
  5. Administer a range of therapeutic modalities, including exercise, neuromuscular re-education, joint and soft tissue mobilization, taping, electrical stimulation, and thermal therapies, as directed by a physician.
  6. Educate patients and their families on maximizing function and facilitating a return to activity or sport, including the implementation of home exercise programs.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and participate in quality management initiatives.
  8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the organization and community resources to enhance the effectiveness of care plans.
  9. Foster positive relationships within the department and the broader community, engaging professionally with physicians, families, and other healthcare personnel.
  10. Supervise and mentor rehabilitation technicians and students, contributing to their performance evaluations.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.
