We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Compounding Operations Manager to join our team at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our sterile compounding area, ensuring that compounded sterile products are prepared and dispensed safely and efficiently in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of the sterile compounding area, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Lead and supervise a team of compounding staff members, coordinating activities and evaluating individual performance.
- Perform and oversee CSP preparations, implementing and enforcing strict clean room protocols.
- Train and mentor pharmacy technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Conduct regular quality control checks and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring they are current and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Four (4) years of pharmacy experience, including three (3) years of sterile compounding experience.
- Fully trained in sterile compounding, medication histories, and chemotherapy, automation (i.e., Pyxis technology and narcotics technology), or decentralized pharmacy technology.
- Thorough understanding of United States Pharmacopedia (USP) General Chapter (USP ), Pharmaceutical Compounding—Sterile Preparations, and USP General Chapter (USP ), Hazardous Drugs—Handling in Healthcare Settings, guidelines.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
- Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) credential from the PTCB or Sterile Compounding (IV) certification from the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA).
- FLBOP registration in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulations of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 465 (Pharmacy), Section 014 (Pharmacy Technician).
