Paramedic - Emergency Response Specialist

The Paramedic plays a vital role in responding to emergency calls and providing critical care to patients in need. As a member of the ambulance service team, the Paramedic is responsible for ensuring the safety of patients and other personnel at all times.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments and provide appropriate care in the field.
- Initiate treatment modalities according to written policies and medical control physician orders.
- Supervise all personnel on the scene involved with patient care within the scope of protocol.
- Assume the role of triage officer at mass casualty incidents until relieved by superiors.
- Accompany patients to the emergency department and monitor their condition during transportation.
- Report orally to the nurse and/or physician upon arrival at the hospital.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and responses in a comprehensive report.
- Maintain accurate ambulance logs and submit incident reports as required.
- Operate vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring the well-being of patients and crew members.
- Perform routine maintenance on ambulances and equipment, making minor repairs and replacements as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
- Participate in triage and prehospital duties as needed.
- Perform EKGs and paramedic-level skills in the emergency department, excluding drug administration.
- Assist with IV drip maintenance and chart patient findings on the ED chart.
- Perform heavy lifting and patient transfers in challenging environments.
