Dishroom Associate

Balfour Senior Living is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dishroom Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas.

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment
• Perform daily cleaning and deep cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas
• Take out trash and recyclables as needed
• Break down and clean the dish machine, floor mats, and other kitchen closing duties
• Sweep and mop floors, including the dish area, prep areas, dry storage, walk-in, and hallway
• Clean and organize the mop sink and chemicals
• Assist with meal preparation and setup
• Put away and rotate stock
• Check paper towel dispensers and refill as needed
• Clean and polish kitchen equipment, storage areas, walls, and floors
• Provide additional cleaning as requested by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Adherence to all policies and procedures for Balfour Senior Living and the dining service department
• Ability and willingness to help out within the entire department when short-staffed, including switching positions as requested by your supervisor

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to push/pull 50 pounds of resistance
• Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Exposure to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases, and blood-borne pathogens
• Exposure to animal hair and dander (Balfour is a pet-friendly community)
