- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care, promoting healthy habits and positive outcomes.
- Perform dental charting and documentation using electronic health record systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Assist with dental lab tasks, such as pouring models and trimming temporary crowns, to support the dental team.
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history, to identify potential health risks.
- Perform basic dental procedures, such as fluoride treatments and sealant applications, under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records, ensuring efficient and effective communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience.
- Current certification in dental radiography (X-ray certification).
- Knowledge of medical coding and insurance billing processes.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically CAD and Epic.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with patients of all ages, especially in a pediatric setting.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
