Position Overview
The primary role involves planning and managing school-age programs and services at the elementary level.

Essential Qualifications:
Education: A degree in education is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Understanding of developmental stages of children from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade.
  • Familiarity with effective discipline strategies suitable for this age group.
  • Ability to source and initiate engaging activities for children.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and management capabilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Sharp observation skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Capacity to be adaptable, supportive, and compassionate.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and exercising sound judgment.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with both children and adults.
Experience: Prior experience working with children from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade is advantageous. Adherence to the standards established by the National Afterschool Association Accreditation is expected.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and oversee the activities and services offered in the Vacation Station Program, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and educational atmosphere for children.
  • Organize and lead engaging and educational activities for children during their out-of-school hours in the Vacation Station program.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:20 AM - 9:20 AM & 3:20 PM - 6:20 PM, plus 3 hours for meetings and lesson planning.
Compensation: $17.04 per hour for those with over 60 college credit hours; $15.78 per hour for those with fewer than 60 college credit hours.
