Job Title: Billing Specialist

At Pivotal Med Supply, LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Billing Specialist to join our corporate team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate billing and collections for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and submit claims via our billing software
  • Call on claims' status and payment or denial information
  • Pull EOBs as needed and post payments
  • Resubmit corrected claims
  • Work appeals
  • Refer complex issues to the supervisor for review and action
  • Adhere to contractual requirements of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans
  • Ensure a continuous quality improvement customer service approach by proactively identifying areas of improvement and communicating those ideas to the healthcare team
  • Maintains and promotes positive and professional working relationships with associates and management
  • Perform other insurance collections tasks, projects, & related duties, as assigned
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of DME specific billing and AR management experience
  • Billing Certification through AMBA or Coding Certification through AAPC
  • Knowledge of medical policy requirements and guidelines
  • Medical collections experience
  • Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Understanding of medical terminology and CPT, HCPC and ICD10 coding preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient technical (computer) skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Self-motivated with initiative
