Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team as a traveling OT Assistant. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide therapeutic interventions under the direction of an occupational therapist, working in a variety of settings including campus locations, home health, and outpatient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic interventions as directed by the occupational therapist, including evaluations, treatments, and documentation of patient progress.
  • Travel to other locations, including overnight stays, to provide services as needed.
  • Evaluate patient response to treatment and provide feedback to the occupational therapist and other team members.
  • Document patient care, including progress made and continuing needs for treatment.
  • Collaborate with the occupational therapist to develop new methods of delivering education to patients and families.
  • Assist the occupational therapist in providing in-service training to team members on occupational therapy knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to the delivery of cost-effective care.
  • Report any complaints or grievances made by residents to the Rehab Program Director or Director of Health Services.
  • Report incidents or suspected incidents of resident abuse to the Rehab Program Director/Director of Health Services and/or the Executive Director immediately.
  • Comply with all resident rights per the company's Resident Rights Policy.
  • Maintain professional and technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities.
  • Participate in survey preparation activities.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant Studies or related field.
  • 0-1 years of experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Physical Requirements

This position requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. The ability to lift at least 50 pounds is also required. The successful candidate must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
