Job Summary

As a Senior Director of Investment and Valuation, you will be a key member of our Investment and Valuation team, responsible for analyzing and valuing investment and M&A opportunities in onshore wind, solar PV, and battery storage projects. You will work closely with the regional head of Development, our I&V team, and colleagues from the Finance community to drive value-added growth and ensure strong governance around investment decisions.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead the analysis and valuation of investment and M&A opportunities, providing recommendations to the RWE Clean Energy Executive Leadership Team and Board.
  2. Manage and own a team, focusing on people and talent development to drive growth and success.
  3. Develop and implement investment decision processes, overseeing the preparation of presentations and delivering investment recommendations.
  4. Ensure the continuous improvement of financial valuations, staying up-to-date with methodological and modeling topics.
  5. Collaborate with the Senior Vice President I&V and other Directors to drive the overall valuation process and support the team's strong spirit.
  6. Source, challenge, and validate valuation-relevant information and business cases, driving the valuation process forward.
  7. Conduct post-completion reviews to validate and refine assumptions, methodology, and process.
  8. Manage investment decision processes within the RWE Clean Energy organization, supporting the development of state-of-the-art valuation methodology.
  9. Ensure compliance with internal directives and applied methodologies.
  10. Orchestrate the valuation and investment process for the Central Region, working seamlessly with multiple parts of the RWE Clean Energy organization.
  11. Exchange regularly with valuation experts from other parts of RWE.
  12. Promote and foster a strong entrepreneurial, performance, and collaboration culture.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a similar university degree required.
  2. MBA or advanced degree with a focus on Finance or Economics, or a Finance-related professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA, PMI) preferred.
  3. Minimum 15 years of experience in Finance roles preferred.
  4. Proficiency in valuation methodologies (especially DCF) and financial modeling (Excel).
  5. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convince senior management.
  6. Proven ability to smoothly and rigorously run valuation processes involving numerous parties.
  7. Experience in people management and development.
  8. Renewable energy experience.
  9. Experience working in complex organizations, where cross-functional participation and decision processes apply.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships.
  11. Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
  12. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  13. Strong organization skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
  14. Ability to multi-task, working independently and as part of a team.
  15. Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  16. Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.
  17. Detail-oriented, with strong business acumen and a sound understanding of business concepts.
  18. Open mindset with self-reflective personality, ability to learn and develop.
