Job Title: Monitoring Technician I

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking a skilled Monitoring Technician to join their safety-conscious team in Hopewell, VA.

Job Summary:

The Monitoring Technician will be responsible for accurately monitoring components on an assigned route within an industrial facility using an analyzer and electronic data recorder. The successful candidate will also be responsible for calibrating equipment to ensure optimum performance and identifying leads and process leak tags.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate initiative and planning skills to carry out tasks without detailed instructions.
  • Use a portable analyzer and electronic data collector to analyze data and evaluate situations.
  • Identify problems or opportunities and develop factual, logical courses of action.
  • Responsible for monitoring components in an industrial environment to detect emissions from process equipment.
  • Perform monitoring activities for an assigned route within a prescribed period of time.
  • Calibrate equipment to ensure optimum performance and make minor mechanical adjustments when necessary.
  • Identify leaks and processes leak tags.
  • Complete daily upload of monitoring activity to the customer database and complete daily emissions monitoring reports.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful but not necessary.
  • Ability to work at moderate to high levels of physical exertion for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
