Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at ImmunoTek Bio Centers, LLC. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct screening procedures to include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checks
  • Perform finger sticks to test donors for hematocrit testing and total protein testing utilizing screening equipment
  • Determine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, to include medical history interview, physical examination, educating donor on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) testing as necessary
  • Provide counseling to Donors regarding unacceptable test results
  • Initiate and assist in donor investigations regarding Post Donation Information
  • Evaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation process
  • Follow all standard operating procedures for all medical emergencies, to include communication with the Center Medical Director and donor transport to emergency medical care facilities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred
  • Actively licensed or certified in the state where performing duties: Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required
Physical Requirements
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knee
  • Ability to sit for extended periods for up to four (4) hours at a time
  • Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds
Work Environment
  • Typical work environment with moderate noise level
  • May be exposed to freezing temperatures for short periods of time
  • Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
